The BTS5020-2EKA is a high-current, low-ohmic smart high-side switch from Infineon, designed for automotive and industrial applications. This device is suitable for a wide range of uses, including driving loads such as lamps, LEDs, relay coils, and small motors.

• High Current Capability: Up to 40 A (at 25°C, with 5 ms pulse width)
• Low On-Resistance: Typical RDS(ON) of 18.5 mΩ
• Short-Circuit Protection: Protected against overcurrent and short circuits to GND
• Overheat Protection: Thermal shutdown when chip temperature exceeds 170°C
• Electrostatic Discharge Protection: Integrated ESD protection for robustness against electrostatic discharge
• Diagnostic Feedback: Open-load detection, short-circuit detection, and overheat indication
• Status Feedback: Output can be used as status feedback to the microcontroller
